The Intergenerational Landed Learning Project (ILLP) is a unique teaching, learning, and research initiative of the UBC Faculty of Education that unites collaborative teams of elders, younger adults, and school children in learning with and caring for the Earth. ILLP program participants grow, tend, cook, and share food at UBC Farm and explore the connections among human and non-human communities, places, and local environments.
The ILLP benefits from and contributes to educational research conducted in the Faculty of Education and provides learning and research opportunities for pre-service and in-service teachers, and MA and PhD students developing a range of pedagogies and practices.
The ILLP is situated on the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) People. Landed Learning strives follow Musqueam protocol, learn from Indigenous ways of knowing, and carry on traditional practices of caring for the Musqueam lands.
